Can you recommend a good movie for me, please? Something 80s. I want something I haven't seen before to celebrate finishing an essay. Do you know of anything suitable?
ok, well here’s a list of 80’s films i have have on dvd.
Fast Times At Ridgemont High, The Karate Kid, This is Spinal Tap, Rocky, The Blues Brothers, Class, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Weird Science, The Goonies, Top Gun, Running in Empty, Say Anything, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Breakfast Club, Hot Pursuit, Lethal Weapon, Stand By Me, Parenthood, Less Then Zero, National Lampoon’s Vaction + European Vacation + Christmas Vacation, Fletch Lives, Peter’s Friends, Star Wars, 16 Candles, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, All Of Me, Planes Trains And Automobiles, The Man With Two Brains, The Jerk, Big Trouble In Little China, E.T. & Withnail & I.
This doesn’t any 80’s horror movies because the list would double - this is mostly comedies and coming of age stories
so i was thinking i’m going to educate & interest my followers in The Ways of the B Horror Movie.
what the hell is this crap?: so my first review is going to be on probably my all time favorite movie Evil Dead II.
if you guys don’t know anything about The Evil Dead trilogy you should do something about it! This is director Sam Raimi at most twisted - known more these days for the Spiderman films. The Evil Dead movies are low budget icons of the horror genre staring big-chin-protagonist Bruce Campbell fighting off undead with his trusty chainsaw and shotgun… I picked Evil Dead II because it has two of my favorite surrealist scenes in all of cinema, notably a fight with his right hand…
but why pothw should i watch this trash?: quoting the back of the box - “Evil Dead II is a gore-fuelled, slapstick masterpiece that gleefully stomps on the entrails of good taste whilst puking in the face of Hollywood with no apologies.”
yessss! Total Film likes my nerdy movie posts! - life is complete
just added a section to my tumblr where I will post a variety of top 5 trashy horror movie and pop culture moments… I don’t know how many people give a shit, but it will help me one day rule the globe, so listen up!
its me being John Cusack in High Fidelity & i will add to it every week with another B movie list.

book mark it, although, there is a link on my page…
for everyone that doesn’t like trashy cinema.. die
what better way to start this list then the fanatic transformation of Jeff Goldblum in;
The Fly (1986) - Brundle-fly

some grotesque body horror & a hilarous bit where his ear falls off, by the end of the film you feel sorry for the spliced up bugman .
Alien (1979) - Alien

and what monster in all of cinema is more iconic then the space bug from Ridley Scotts alien… Maybe i just don’t like bug?
Return Of The Jedi (1983) - The Rancor

ok, so this isn’t a B movie, nor is it a creature feature, but every star wars fan knows not to fall down Jabba The Hutts secret trap floor
Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954)

ok, so by now, you’ve probably seen the lack of say Werewolfs, Mummys, King Kong, Godzilla or Vampires (fuck off twilight fans) so who would i be if i didn’t choose one of the more mainstream, original concept creatures.. And who better?
& finally, my personal favorite…
The Thing (1982) - thingy

another bit of body horror here. What is scarier then a monster that can grotesquely morph into anything it likes?! In my opinion, the best creature development cinema has to offer, lets hope the prequel doesn’t suck too bad
firstly & probably most famous of all
Indiana Jones - Raiders of the Lost Ark (1991)

who wasn’t haunted by this nazi’s melted face as a child?
planet terror (2007)

R Rodriguez knows how to get Bruce Willis’s good side.
Big Trouble In Little China (1986)

John Carpenters cult classic has everything; ninja’s, monsters, kurt russel, lo pan, awesome one liners and face exploding!
Poltergeist (1982)

back to Spielberg again for what is arguably not face melting.. more face pulling off
Dead Heat (1988)

and finally, everyone’s favorite Buddy Cop movie, in which one of them is actually a zombie, Dead Heat.
